Barcelona

Barcelona were founded in 1899 by the Swiss businessman Joan Gamper and have played at Camp Nou since 1957. The stadium is being rebuilt as part of the Espai Barça project, budgeted at around €1.5 billion. The club spent two and a half years at the Estadi Olímpic before returning on 22 November 2025, and capacity has climbed in stages to 62,652, with a finished target near 105,000 that would make it the largest ground in Europe again.

On the pitch the club has 29 Spanish league titles and five European Cups. Its real distinction is La Masia, the academy that produced Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Pedri and Lamine Yamal, and gave the club a playing identity that outlasted individual managers. Like Real Madrid, Barcelona are owned by their members, so elections and finances are permanent stories.

Barcelona won the 2025/26 league title, their 29th, a second in succession.
