Arsenal were founded in 1886 by workers at the Royal Arsenal armaments factory in Woolwich, then moved north across the Thames to Highbury in 1913, the relocation that created the rivalry with Tottenham. Since 2006 they have played at the 60,704-seat Emirates Stadium.

One record belongs to them alone: Arsenal have the longest unbroken run in the English top flight of any club, unrelegated since 1919. The 14 league championships include the 2003/04 Invincibles, still the only side to go a full 38-match Premier League season unbeaten, and the doubles of 1971, 1998 and 2002.

The 2025/26 season ended a 22-year wait. Arsenal won the Premier League with 85 points, a fourth title of the Premier League era, and reached the Champions League final in Budapest, losing to Paris Saint-Germain on penalties. The European Cup remains the one major trophy the club has never won.
