Lamine Yamal

Lamine Yamal is a right winger for Barcelona and Spain, born in Esplugues de Llobregat just outside the city and raised in Rocafonda, Mataró, the neighbourhood he marks with his goal celebration. He joined La Masia at seven and made his first-team debut at fifteen, becoming the youngest player to appear for the club in the modern era.

He plays almost exclusively off the right touchline, inverting onto his left foot to shoot or thread a pass, and draws double coverage in nearly every match. Barcelona handed him the number 10 shirt before he turned eighteen, a decision that says more about the club's expectations than any statistic could.

At sixteen he became the youngest scorer in European Championship history, with the goal that turned the Euro 2024 semi-final against France. Two years later he started the 2026 World Cup final, the win that made Spain world champions for a second time and confirmed him as the player the national team now builds around.
