About the player

Anthony Gordon is a winger for Barcelona and England. Barcelona signed him from Newcastle United at the end of May 2026 on a five-year contract, in a deal worth more than £69 million.

Born in Liverpool in February 2001, Gordon came through the academy at Everton, where he made his first-team debut in January 2020 and spent part of the 2020/21 season on loan at Preston North End. He moved to Newcastle in January 2023 and played there for three and a half seasons before the move to Spain.

He plays mainly on the left, and is known for his pace, his pressing and his direct running at defenders. He was part of England's squad at the 2026 World Cup.
