Manchester United host Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday, kick-off 17:30 BST, with one win from five Premier League games. United have five points, from one win, two draws and two defeats. Tottenham have two points and have not won in the league this season. Both return from the international break, and Friday's team news from each camp is the story.

United's results so far include a home defeat by Manchester City on 13 September (read the derby recap), a Carabao Cup exit against Brighton and a 1-1 draw at Fulham on 20 September, where Matheus Cunha equalised in the 89th minute, according to Reuters.

Manchester United team news

Tottenham's official match preview lists Patrick Dorgu and Benjamin Šeško as out for United. Reuters reports that Michael Carrick expects Dorgu to miss several weeks and that Šeško is further from a return. Šeško's shin problem returned before the break and kept him out of the Fulham draw (our earlier report), and Dorgu left the Denmark camp injured (more here).

Noussair Mazraoui is a doubt rather than a confirmed absentee. He came off after a collision playing for Morocco against Lesotho in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier and missed the friendly against Mali. Reuters quotes Carrick as saying: "He's not quite right yet, we'll have to see how he is." Tottenham's preview also says United will assess him before the game.

There is better news elsewhere. Stretty News reports that Carrick suggested Marcus Rashford and Kobbie Mainoo, who both withdrew from England duty, will be in the squad, and that summer signing Carlos Baleba, still waiting for his competitive debut, is improving after an ankle ligament problem. readmanutd reported on Thursday that Bruno Fernandes had an injury scare during the break but is expected to lead the team.

Tottenham team news

Football.london reports that Roberto De Zerbi told his Friday press conference that Micky van de Ven and Jan Paul van Hecke are available after knocks on Netherlands duty. Van de Ven played four games for the Netherlands and Van Hecke three. De Zerbi added that Van Hecke's wife gave birth to twins this week, an emotional factor he had to consider.

James Maddison is available but lost three or four days to a minor setback, according to the same report. De Zerbi said he can play on Saturday but needs several weeks without pain before he is a normal player again, and praised Gallagher's form at number 10. Dejan Kulusevski, still recovering from a long-term injury, will travel in a support role. Pedro Porro and Mykhailo Mudryk are not available, Porro for several games and Mudryk possibly for longer.

The last meeting

United won the last meeting 2-0 at Old Trafford on 7 February, with goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes, according to the Premier League's match report. Tottenham played most of the game with ten men after captain Cristian Romero was sent off in the first half. It was Carrick's fourth league win from four since his return as head coach.

Stuart Attwell is the referee, and the match is live on Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Main Event in the UK, according to Tottenham's match information page. Line-ups are due about an hour before kick-off.
