Harry Kane became the fastest player to score 100 Bundesliga goals on Friday, and Bayern Munich beat Union Berlin 7-0 at the Allianz Arena on a night that got away from the visitors long before the end.
Kane's landmark came from the penalty spot in the 39th minute, on his 98th appearance in the competition. The previous fastest century belonged to Dieter Müller, who needed 129 games. Kane scored again after the break to reach 101, and Michael Olise finished with his first hat-trick for the club. Our preview had the record one goal away.
Seven goals, and three of them for Olise
Jamal Musiala opened the scoring in the 18th minute, finishing into the bottom corner after Alphonso Davies worked the ball to him. Olise then won the penalty that Kane converted, going down under a challenge from Tom Rothe, and two minutes before half-time Musiala set up Olise for a curled finish at the near post.
Kane's second, in the 54th minute, came from an Olise pass. Ismael Saibari made it 5-0 in the 70th from another Davies assist, and Olise completed the scoring in the 73rd and 76th minutes, both times set up by Tom Bischof.
Kompany changed six and lost nothing
Vincent Kompany made six changes from the win at Elversberg, bringing back Jonathan Tah, Joshua Kimmich, Davies, Luis Díaz, Musiala and Manuel Neuer. Konrad Laimer missed out with an adductor problem.
Mauro Lustrinelli made three changes of his own, with Christopher Trimmel, András Schäfer and Janik Haberer coming in. Union had gone winless in their opening three matches, and this was the heaviest of the four defeats.
"The whole package"
Olise took the official man-of-the-match award, and his third goal took him to 50 in Bayern colours. Kompany was asked afterwards what impressed him most about the winger, in comments reported by bulinews.

Kane, who has played alongside Olise since the Frenchman arrived from Crystal Palace, called him an amazing player and a joy to play alongside.
Top of the table, then the break
Bayern played first in matchday 4, so the win put them top at least until the rest of the round was played on Saturday. The international break follows, and their next league game is at Augsburg on 10 October, the day Union host Elversberg.
