Czechia v England kicks off at the Fortuna Arena in Prague at 19:45 BST (20:45 CEST) on Tuesday, live on ITV1 and ITVX. It is the first of England's two Nations League meetings with the Czech Republic in eight days, and neither side has a point in Group A3.

England lost 3-2 to world champions Spain at Wembley on Saturday, after Harry Kane slipped on a penalty at 2-1. Czechia lost 2-1 at home to Croatia on the same night.

O'Reilly out, Konsa available

Nico O'Reilly is not in England's matchday squad, according to UEFA's squad list, and Liverpool's Rio Ngumoha is in it. Ezri Konsa, who also missed Monday's training, is available for selection. England were already without Declan Rice, Cole Palmer, Marcus Rashford, Kobbie Mainoo and Tino Livramento, who withdrew before the window, with Morgan Gibbs-White and James Garner called up.

Thomas Tuchel said on Monday that he would ideally pick the same team that started against Spain, and he would not call the game decisive.

He said England had analysed only one Czech game because of the change of coach, and had seen a well-organised side with a flexible midfield three and wingers who attack full-backs.

Denia's second game in charge

Santi Denia, who coached Spain to Olympic gold in Paris in 2024, is the first foreign head coach of the Czech national team. He replaced Miroslav Koubek after the World Cup. His first game was Saturday's defeat by Croatia, in which Adam Karabec equalised in the second half before Marco Pašalić scored the winner in the 77th minute. It was Czechia's first home defeat since September 2022, after 19 games.

Captain Ladislav Krejčí, who missed that game with a calf problem, is back in the squad. Vladimír Coufal, who wore the armband in his place, is out with what the Czech news agency ČTK described as health problems. Tomáš Souček is still recovering from injury, and Patrik Schick retired from international football after the World Cup.

Czechia's last win over England came in Prague

Czechia have beaten England once in five meetings since Czechoslovakia split, 2-1 in Prague in October 2019. Counting Czechoslovakia, they are unbeaten in their last four home games against England. England won the most recent meeting 1-0 at Wembley at Euro 2020, in June 2021, and are unbeaten in their last 11 away games, winning the last seven.

Croatia next, behind closed doors

Spain and Croatia have three points each after one game and meet in Seville on Tuesday. England travel to Rijeka to play Croatia on Saturday at 18:00 CEST (17:00 BST). That match is subject to a UEFA behind-closed-doors sanction, although 100 England supporters have been allocated tickets. England then host Czechia at Wembley on Tuesday 6 October.
