Spanish outlets went further after his tests on Thursday. COPE, El Español and El Debate all reported a small meniscus problem that is expected to keep him out for around three weeks, which would rule him out of Saturday's La Liga game at Sevilla.
The injury came in Wednesday's win over Racing
Garcia was replaced at half-time of Wednesday's 7-2 win over Racing Santander, with Wojciech Szczęsny taking over in goal. Our Racing recap covers that game. COPE reported that he was hurt when he slipped going for a ball that had gone out behind the goal line.
COPE and Goal both reported that he will not need surgery. COPE and El Debate noted that Garcia had surgery on a torn meniscus in his left knee a year ago, so this problem is in the other knee.
He is also expected to miss Spain's international games
El Español reported that Garcia is not expected to be in Luis de la Fuente's Spain squad for the Nations League games against England and Croatia during the international break. The same outlet expects him back for Barcelona's home game against Getafe on 10 October.
Flick speaks on Friday before the trip to Sevilla
Barcelona train again on Friday, when Hansi Flick is due to speak to the media ahead of the game, according to El Debate. Kick-off at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán is at 21:00 CEST on Saturday. Until the club gives a timeline, the three-week estimate remains a reported one.
