Carlos Alcaraz

Carlos Alcaraz is a Spanish player from El Palmar, a village outside Murcia, where his father ran the local tennis club and where he still trains. He has been coached since childhood by Juan Carlos Ferrero, himself a former world number one, in a partnership unusual for its stability.

His game is the most varied in the men's sport: a heavy forehand and genuine power, combined with a drop shot he uses as a first option rather than a surprise, and a willingness to come forward that most of his generation was never taught.

He won his first major at the US Open in 2022 at nineteen, then beat Novak Djokovic in a five-set Wimbledon final in 2023 that marked the generational handover. He completed the career Grand Slam at the 2026 Australian Open, the youngest man ever to hold all four titles, and his rivalry with Jannik Sinner now frames every major draw.
