Lautaro Martínez is an Argentine forward and the captain of Inter Milan. Born in Bahía Blanca in 1997, he came through the youth system at Racing Club and joined Inter in 2018, where he has spent his entire European career.
He is a compact, right-footed centre-forward whose game is built on movement inside the penalty area rather than on running the channels. He holds the ball up as readily as he attacks the space behind a defence, and much of his most effective work at Inter has come as part of a front two, most recently alongside Marcus Thuram.
He has been an Argentina international since 2018 and has featured across successive tournament cycles for the national team. He wears number 10 at club level.
