Jannik Sinner

Jannik Sinner is an Italian player from San Candido in German-speaking South Tyrol, where he grew up skiing competitively and won a national junior title on snow before choosing tennis at thirteen and moving away from home to train.

His tennis reflects that late switch: economical, flat and early-struck off both wings, with almost no wasted movement. He redirects pace better than anyone in the men's game, which is why opponents who hit harder rarely find it works against him.

His first major came at the 2024 Australian Open, from two sets down in the final, and he added the US Open later that year, the first Italian man to win either. He served a three-month suspension in 2025 after a case involving contamination from a member of his support team, returned to win at the highest level immediately, and took Wimbledon in 2026.
