Federico Valverde is a midfielder for Real Madrid and a Uruguay international. He was born in Montevideo and came through the youth system at Peñarol.
Real Madrid signed him in 2016. He spent his first season with Castilla, the club's reserve side, then a season in the top flight on loan at Deportivo de La Coruña. His first-team debut came in the Champions League against Viktoria Plzeň in October 2018.
His game is built on running power and a long-range shot, and he has been used across the midfield and, when the squad needed it, at right-back.
