Dean Huijsen is a centre-back for Real Madrid. He was born in Amsterdam and moved to Spain as a child, growing up in Marbella, and it is Spain he represents at international level.
His professional career began in Italy, in the Juventus academy and then the first team, followed by a spell at Roma. He moved to England with Bournemouth before joining Real Madrid.
He is left-footed, which is part of why he is picked on that side of a central pairing, and his reputation was built on composure in possession rather than on physical presence alone. That profile is unusual for a defender who reached a club of this size so early, and it is the reason he was tracked by several of them at once.
