The public ballot for the 2027 edition of Wimbledon is closed. Applications opened on Tuesday 1 September and shut at 23:59 BST on Monday 14 September, so any page still inviting you to enter is out of date.

The next move belongs to the All England Club. It will email ticket offers to successful applicants from October onwards. It has not given a single results day, and the emails do not all go out at once.

When are the Wimbledon ballot results?

The AELTC says offers arrive by email from October 2026 onwards, with details of the tickets and instructions on how to pay. They come from info@championships.aeltc-email.com. The club advises adding that address to your safe senders and checking spam and junk folders.

The emails only reach applicants who have ticked "Championships tickets, including the Wimbledon Public Ballot" in the email preferences of their myWimbledon profile. That setting is worth checking now.

Wimbledon's help pages describe two emails: a confirmation when you apply, and an offer if you are successful. They do not say that every unsuccessful applicant receives a separate rejection email.

How does the Wimbledon public ballot work?

The ballot has run since 1924 and is free to enter. You need a myWimbledon account, and the club accepts one application per household, for up to two tickets. Entering earns a place in the draw, not a ticket.

The draw is automated and random. It selects the successful applicants and, with them, the day, court and seat location each one is offered, based on the best tickets available at the time. Nobody can ask for a particular day or court.

Each offer is for one pair of tickets or two single tickets, on Centre Court, No.1 Court, No.2 Court or No.3 Court. Applicants who have entered for years get no preference.

How is the LTA Wimbledon ballot different?

The Lawn Tennis Association runs its own ballot, separate from the club's, and anyone eligible can enter both. It is open to Fan+, Play+ and Compete Advantage members, with separate ballots for Accredited+ coaches, venue volunteers and LTA licensed officials. For 2027 the opt-in ran from 23 July to 31 August 2026, and it is now closed.

The main difference is choice. A successful LTA applicant buys one pair of tickets and picks the date and court, subject to availability, instead of receiving a random allocation. The LTA says the draw runs shortly after the opt-in closes and every entry has an equal chance, however long the member has belonged. Applicants are updated by email, and winners get a set window to buy.

What happens if you are successful?

An offer is a one-time chance. The AELTC makes each successful applicant a single offer. Turning it down ends that applicant's part in the ballot for the coming Championships, with no second offer to follow. Payment must be made by the deadline set in the offer email, and the club does not accept late payments.

Ballot tickets cannot be given as gifts. If plans change, the club's refund policy allows tickets to be returned up to 24 hours before the day of play. Anyone who takes a refund on ballot tickets cannot buy more through the ballot that year.

What if your ballot entry is unsuccessful?

Missing out is not the end of it. The AELTC says unsuccessful public-ballot applicants are given access to its returns shop, where tickets can be bought in the lead-up to The Championships. This is the official answer to the "Wimbledon ballot resale" question, and entering the ballot is what unlocks it.

The club lists two further routes for 2027 that are open to anyone:

  • Hospitality. Packages are sold through its official provider, Keith Prowse.
  • The Queue. It returns for on-the-day sales, one ticket per person, including premium seats on Centre Court and No.1 Court. The AELTC publishes Queue details on its website before the Championships, and the 2027 arrangements are not out yet.

The online returns shop should not be confused with Ticket Resale inside the grounds. That scheme resells Show Court tickets handed back by spectators who leave, and only to guests already inside, with the proceeds going to the Wimbledon Foundation. Its 2027 terms have not been published.

When does the Wimbledon ballot open again?

No dates have been announced for the 2028 ballot. The 2027 ballot opened on 1 September 2026 and stayed open for two weeks. The club's advice for keeping up with ticket news is to sign up to myWimbledon and opt in to ticketing communications.

The LTA route needs more planning. Only members holding a qualifying Advantage membership can opt in, and only while the window is open. For 2027, that window opened in late July.
