About the player

Rafael Jodar is a Spanish right-hander born in Madrid in 2006. He came through the junior ranks, winning the boys' singles title at the 2024 US Open, and then took the college route, playing at the University of Virginia before concentrating on the ATP Tour.

His rise from the Challenger circuit to the top level of the men's game has been unusually quick for a player of his age.
