About the player

Tyrese Maxey is a guard for the Philadelphia 76ers, born in Dallas and raised in Garland, Texas, where he played at South Garland High School. He spent one season at Kentucky before the 76ers took him with the 21st pick in the 2020 draft, and he has played his whole NBA career in Philadelphia.

His friendship with LeBron James goes back to 2020, when the two began working out together before Maxey's rookie season, and Maxey says they have trained together every summer since. When James joined the 76ers in 2026, he named that relationship as one of the main deciding factors.
