Karl-Anthony Towns

Karl-Anthony Towns is a center for the New York Knicks, born in Edison, New Jersey, to an American father and a Dominican mother. He starred at St. Joseph High School in Metuchen, was named to the Dominican Republic national team as a teenager, and played one season of college basketball at Kentucky.

The Minnesota Timberwolves made him the first overall pick in the 2015 draft, and he was named Rookie of the Year in 2016. A seven-footer who shoots from the perimeter, he won the three-point contest at the 2022 All-Star weekend and spent nine seasons in Minnesota.

The Timberwolves traded him to New York in October 2024, in a three-team deal that sent Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo to Minnesota. In 2026 he won the championship with the Knicks, the team he grew up supporting, and their first title since 1973.
