Jalen Brunson

Jalen Brunson is a guard for the New York Knicks, born in New Brunswick, New Jersey, to a father who played nine seasons in the NBA and later coached him. He won two national championships at Villanova, was drafted thirty-third in 2018, spent four seasons in Dallas and signed with New York in 2022.

He is a small guard in a league built for length, and he compensates with footwork, patience and one of the most reliable mid-range games in the sport. In 2024 he signed an extension worth considerably less than the maximum he could have asked for, a decision that gave the Knicks room to build and made him the leader of the room as much as the team.

He captained New York to the 2026 championship, the franchise's first in fifty-three years, and was named Finals MVP after a forty-five-point closing game.
